5 Ways You Can Avoid Costly Credit Card Late Fees
by: Edward Vegliante
Credit card late fees are a fact of life for some consumers, but they don’t have to be for you. Legally, credit card companies can hit you with pretty much whatever fees they want. On the other hand, you don’t have to pay them, but only if you avoid them in the first place. Here are five sure fire ways you can avoid costly credit card late fees:
1. Pay Before the Due Date. Of course, this makes the most sense. However, this is also the single most important reason why people get socked with fees: they receive their bill and immediately forget about it! When you get your bill, open it up and pay it promptly. Waiting means forgetting and forgetting about your credit card bill will cost you money.
2. Pay on the Internet. If you have access to a computer, then paying online is the best way to make certain that your payment gets to your credit card provider on time. Be careful, as there is still some lag time from when you authorize funds to be released from your checking account and when that payment is finally credited to your credit card account. The gap between the two can be as long as one week!

Home buying is one of the most important decisions an individual or a couple can make. It is quite possibly the largest purchase an individual or family will ever make, thus, it is important to approach the funding of the purchase with great caution. Determining the type of mortgage that is right for you can be tricky. It starts with the basic knowledge of the different types of loans out there, including FHA Loans, VA Loans, Rural Housing Loans, and many other types of loans.
Two very important and frequently used types of loans are FHA Loans and VA Loans. FHA loans are considered a government mortgage and are insured by the Federal Housing Administration. These loans mandate that the buyer put at least three percent of the sales price down as a down payment. VA loans are reserved to those individuals who have met specific time requirements in the military. There is typically on down payment and loans may equate 100 percent of the value of the property.
Beta Factors: How They Can Be Used In The Current Situation
March 26, 2009
Ever since the turn of the century, world stock markets have been very volatile. In other words there have been significant movements (up or down) in share prices. This phenomenon has been evidenced by the collapse in recent years of the share prices of the dot com companies (e.g. Yahoo, Amazon etc.) and the sharp falls in the share prices of telecommunication stocks (e.g. British Telecom, Marconi etc.). Yet despite these events there is very little emphasis placed on measuring the volatility of stocks.
The aim of this article is to explain one method of measuring the volatility namely beta factors and how investors can interpret this information. The article aims to state how investors can use beta factor analysis to their advantage when there are political uncertainties affecting markets. Though some stockbroker firms calculate the beta factors of certain stocks quoted in their respective stock exchanges, investors have little access to these figures. In more developed markets many stockbroker firms do have access to beta factors but it is only in recent years that investors have access to this information.
BETA FACTORS:
What Does it Take to be a Stock Trader?
March 25, 2009
It takes a total mental commitment to the task. It becomes a complete way of life. You cannot be a part timer. You cannot work at a regular job and trade stocks successfully.
When you decide to make your living this way you must be willing to work 365 days a year, 7 days each week, 24 hours every day with no time off. I know.
How do I know? As an exchange member for 17 years and a floor trader I can personally tell you there is no time off. Never. Almost every waking moment is given to thinking about your current positions. Where should I sell? Should I move my stop up a little more? There are 3 more trades I’d like to make, but I need to save some extra cash in case I need it for a margin call. It is hard to pass up a trade that looks as good as XYZ, but I have to maintain my trading discipline. And so much more.

If I Have More Than One Employer Can I Have More Than One 401K Limit Of $14 000?
by: Paul Smith
One of the questions we get asked a lot is, I know the limit that the IRS puts on my 401k contributions for the year is $14000 (for a person under 50) (2005) but is this the limit I can get from one employer or is it the total amount I can get from all my employers? So if I had 5 jobs could I get a total of $70 000 5 x $14 000 in contributions?
The simple answer is $14 000 is the personal limit you have as an individual and there for the total from all your employers, so if you have more than one employer then between you all the total that can be added for each year is $14 000. If you do over pay into the plans you have, it is easy to do if you are running more than one plan with more than one employer making contributions, you can claim back the overpayments but the claim must be made by 15th March.
